Congrats to Lola USA261, owned by Mark DeYoung and Paul Reiman (helm), on a close win in a Dragon Fleet of six. And well done Cleveland Dragons for getting the entire fleet out racing for this great event held annually on Lake Erie at Edgewater Yacht Club, just minutes from downtown Cleveland. An excellent Race Committee (running multiple OD races) got four races completed on Saturday and two more on Sunday. Weather on Sunday was brisk (10 gusting to 20) with some big storms in the area. Fortunately none came through the race course. And it all came down to the last race, with Lola finishing second and securing the win by a point. As usual there was lots of great food and plenty of beer provided by the sponsors plus Lee's famous blender party on Saturday after the races.
This weekend was also the Star Western Hemisphere Championship, with more than 30 entries. Congratulations to Arthur Anosov and David Caesar (a sometime Dragon sailor) for their First Place overall finish! |
